Ovid-Elsie falls to Frankenmuth despite strong singles attack


Ovid-Elsie had three strong victories in singles but lost the match to 5-3 Frankenmuth in boys tennis action on Tuesday

Ovid-Elsie had three strong victories in singles but lost the match to 5-3 Frankenmuth in boys tennis action on Tuesday.

Devin Bengal won in No. 1 singles over Billy Bush 6-0, 6-2, while in No. 2, James Wilson topped Benny Block 6-1, 6-4. Ian Mckenzie added a win for Ovid-Elsie at No. 4 singles over with a 3-6, 6-1 6-2 decision over Matt Meyerhuber.

Frankenmuth's Zack Bierlein prevailed 3-6, 6-4, 4-6 over Jacob Richards in No. 4.

Winners for Frankenmuth in doubles were Ian Goodall and Greg Perry in No.1, Chase Showwalter and Joey Seder in No. 2, Kevin Fresorger and Austin Rogoshaw in No. 3 and Chris Hallman and Connor Lamb in No. 4.
