Central Montcalm volleyball team goes 1-1 in CSAA debut


Central Montcalm opened its Central State Activities Association volleyball season with a loss to Reed City on Wednesday but with a victory over Hesperia.

Central Montcalm opened its Central State Activities Association volleyball season with  a loss to Reed City on Wednesday but with a victory over Hesperia.

 

The Hornets lost to Reed City 25-22, 25-17 and swept Hesperia 25-20, 25-21.

 

Central Montcalm players were Morgan Chapin, Brooke Hollenbeck, Michaela Crooks, Kasey Sinclair, Kirsi Singh, Christa Depue, Courtney Schmidt, Karli Clark, Haylee Misner, Courtney Edwards and Paige Switzer.

 

Courtney and Seitzer were among the standouts for Central Montcalm.

 

The team, 5-5-1, is coached by Haley Dawe.

 

We've had our ups and downs,” she said. “They need to play with confidence all the time. When they get down, it's hard for us to get back up.”
