Even though senior running back Deshaun Young rushed for 363 yards and broke the school record that was previously held by Doug Forsyth it wasn’t enough for the Indians in the end as they were defeated by Swan Valley 48-34.

Chesaning was on the march with their second possession of the night but their drive ended with a Swan Valley interception that was returned 55 yards for a touchdown. The Vikings then added a two-point play to make the score 14-0 but the Indians came right back scoring on a 22 yard run by Young.

Young struck again, this time for 10 yards out, at 5:18 of the second quarter. The two point attempt was no good.

Young put the Tribe back in the game first with an eight yard run then with an 80 yard touchdown run. Chesaning added a two-point conversion.

A.J. Nietling closed out the scoring at 2:57 of the fourth on a three yard run. The two point try was good.
