Call him Coleman’s comeback kid.

Tim Anderson has been healthy in recent weeks for the Coleman boys basketball team and his teammates have been prospering as a result.

Anderson didn’t even think he’d be playing basketball The second week of the football season, Anderson sustained a broken leg. It was a serious injury and ended what appeared to be a promising season.

In the first week against Farwell, Anderson gained more than 200 yards. Then came the next game.

I got the ball went, outside, and that’s really all I remember,” he said. “They said, I don’t remember, that someone fell on it. I actually have a rod in my leg.”

A few weeks into the season, he came to the basketball team after rehab work.

It wasn’t going to play (basketball) at first,” he said. “I worked hard.”

Anderson has especially been scoring points for Coleman

Our team is doing pretty good,” he said. “We’re making progress. Defense is the key. We’re definitely going to win some more games.”

On Feb. 20 at Farwell, Coleman prevailed 56-40 over Farwell. The Comets were up 11-8 after the first quarter, 25-23 at halftime and 40-35 after the third quarter. Coleman had a 16-5 scoring edge in the final eight minutes.

Riley Bell had 18 points plus seven steals while Anderson had 11 points and six rebounds. Tylor Rhynard had 11 points and five rebounds.

Coleman has won five of its last six.

Coleman plays at St. Louis on Feb. 28.
