Andrea Henry knows how to hit the 3-pointers and it’s been tough to stop her.

The talented Lakeview junior guard, who’s been having a banner season for the Wildcats  had a memorable game Saturday in a 55-51 loss to Reed City in the Central State Activities Association season final for both teams.

Henry had a 3-pointer in the second quarter, but Lakeview trailed 29-26 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Henry went on a tear hitting four 3-pointers. She also was fouled on one of her 3-pointers and connected with a free throw for a four-point play.

Henry wound up with 13 points in the third quarter and Lakeview had a 43-39 lead.

Henry was held scoreless in the fourth quarter and wound up with 16 points.

Reed City coach Brian Koopman said it was a matter of playing better defense on Henry.

We were sagging off her and that allowed her to shoot the ball,” Koopman said. “I said ‘why are we doing this? We know how to play defense. They’d kick it out and shoot a three. Finally the girls got it figured out that last four minutes and 38 seconds of the game.”

Morgan Lindsey netted five points in the first quarter to power Lakeview to a 13-10 lead.

Lakeview falls to 9-6 in the league and 12-7 overall.
