Ovid Elsie’s tennis team is now 3-4 after falling to Alma 6-2 on Tuesday. The Marauders are gearing up for conference tournament action on Friday.
Ovid-Elsie lost all four matches in singles but won a pair in doubles.
Winning their doubles matches in doubles for Ovid Elsie were Jamie Russell and Joy Whitford at No. 2. They beat Kasey Wood and Taryn Kirby 6-3, 7-6(6).
Also winning were Myrna Hunt and Nicole McIntyre over Elizabeth Martin and Erin Griffin 6-2, 7-6(3).
Falling for the Marauders in singles were Kaylee Davisson at No. 1 to Stephanie Hopkins 6-1. 6-4, Hailey Edwards at No. 2 to Emily Oberlitner 6-0, 6-0; Kathleen Miller at No. 3 to Melissa Rivera 6-0, 6-0 and Haven Bouchard in singles at No. 4 to Julia Wertz 6-0, 6-0.
The Marauders lost at No. 1 doubles with Brittini Tucker and Kristine Batora falling to Jenny Ho and Paige Bennett 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 and at No. 3 doubles with Jessica Carie and Ashley Brower bowing to Rebeka Lucchesi and Isabella Rivera 6-3, 6-4.
