Rick Sellers, who led Chippewa Hills to a 1983 state baseball championship and later played in the Detroit Tigers organization, was inducted on July 3, in the Mecosta County Sports Hall of Fame.

Sellers played football at Central Michigan University his freshman season and later joined the baseball program, becoming an all-Mid American Conference standout. He signed a free agent contract with the Tigers and played in the farm system for many years. He retired as a player with the Cincinnati Reds in 2003.

Sellers is now a scout for the Minnesota Twins. He formerly was a scout for the Cincinnati Reds.

He also coached baseball at Montabella for a year.
