Ithaca edges Breckenridge in boys jamboree




Breckenridge tied Ithaca with 32 points but the Yellowjackets got the tiebreaker Tuesday in the TVC West cross country jamboree at St. Charles.

Stephen Merchant won it for Ithaca in 17:11.4. Also for Ithaca, Kaleb Coston was third in 17:25.3, Kaleb Baublitz seventh in 17:47.2, Alik Helms eighth in 17:48.3, John Lambrecht 13th in 18:20.0 and James O'Boyle 16th in 18:46.8.

Kurt and Kyle Gulick were second and fourth in 17:10 and 17:26 for Breckenridge while Nate Partee, Jesse Corbatt and Austin Brittain were fifth, sixth and 15th in 17:39, 17:43 and 18:40.

Ithaca was second in the girls race while Breckenridge was third.

For Ithaca, Kurstin Kalisek was fourth in 20:46, Hannah Thayer eighth in 21:36, Blaire Showers ninth in 21:45, Kali Densmore 12th in 21:55 and Vanessa Waldron 14th in 22:24.

For Breckenridge Kirsten Olling was first in 18:44, Rachel Reiber sixth in 21:30, Dominique Adams seventh in 21:34, Lindsay Hoard 13th in 22:11 and Hope Davidson 27th in 24:42.
