A number of football players from the High School Sports Scene coverage area will be playing their final high school game this summer in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association (MHSFCA) East-West All Star football game.

This year’s game will be the 33rd annual MHSFCA East-West All Star Game and will take place on Saturday, June 22 at Arend D. Lubbers Stadium on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mi.

A total of 88 high school football players from across the state have been invited to play in the game with 44 players on the East team and 44 players on the West team.

Playing on the West offense will be running back Derrick Nash (5-10, 195) Carrollton, wide receiver Ryan Anderson (6-3, 180) of DeWitt, wide receiver Javon Haines (6-2, 181) of East Lansing, tight end Jared Evers (6-0, 230) of Ithaca, tackle Nick Chappell (6-5, 300) of Fenton, tackle Jake Daugherty (6-3, 270) of Big Rapids, guard Dylan Carroll (6-4, 230) of Portland, center Sam Rathbun (6-3, 282) of Haslett and kicker Dong Kim of Okemos. 

Playing on the West defense will be defensive lineman Aaron Matthias (6-7, 231) of Hemlock, linebacker Jack Swain (6-0, 205) of Lansing Catholic Central, linebacker Charles Waits (5-11, 205) of Holt, linebackers Corey Williams (6-1, 190) of Mt. Pleasant, Flint Powers Catholic defensive back Garrett Pougnet (6-3, 190) and Lansing Everett defensive back Jaleel Canty 5-10, 195).

One area player will be suiting up for the East as Fowlerville offensive lineman Adam Coon (6-4, 270) will be playing along the defensive line.
