Lansing Christian put in a bold bid for a regional title on Tuesday but lost a heartbreaker to Hillsdale Academy 3-2 in Class D volleyball action. Hillsdale won the first game 25-14, but Lansing Christian took the second set 27-25. The third set was close with Hillsdale prevailing 25-23. But Lansing Christian stayed alive with a 25-21 win in the fourth.  It was 15-7, Hillsdale, in the final game.

 

Morgan Valley led Ashley with four aces and 40 assists while Kelsey Blood, Nikki Rakestraw and Gwen Wortz had four blocks apiece. Blood also had eight kills. Kelsey Cox had 14 kills, Paige Porter 11 kills and Lauren Royce 12 digs.
