I have known Terry Hessbrook, coach of the four-time  Ithaca Yellowjackets football teams, my entire life. We graduated together from Ithaca in 1985. As a competitor and a friend we shared playing on baseball teams from little league through high school and both were captains of our respective sports. When it came to winter sports we split our leadership roles as he played basketball while I pursued wrestling even though we shared great moments on the roundball court through the eighth grade. Football was the ultimate team sport and our senior year(1984) we reached a milestone for our IthacaHigh School. Our senior class was undefeated and made the playoffs for the first time in school history, it does not seem like 29 years have past…

Terry has had incredible success as the head coach of Ithaca High School football over the last ten years!! He has established a great program and has developed a strong circle of assistant coaches around him ( Craig Snyder, Brad Showers, Todd Hessbrook, John Mimranek,Josh Rayburn, Noah Moomey, Justin Seamon, Craig Fenn, Luke Kanine, Andrew Snowblein, Brandon Gillette, and  Glenn Stevenson). Terry has always received great respect as a leader and a coach. As for the community of Ithaca, Terry Hessbrook and his undefeated yellowjacket football teams over the last four years, they have brought a huge degree of pride and an undenying feeling of family within the community during this Nationally recognized STREAK of 56 games!!

Speaking for High School Sports Scene, for the community of Ithaca and as a lifelong friend, thank you Terry Hessbrook and the Ithaca High School Fighting Yellowjackets for another perfect season! We all look forward to your continued success with your program and the development of our young athletes.
