Beal City romped past Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart 53-17 on Thursday in the season opener for both teams. Defensively, Alex Shafer had nine tackles for Beal City while Jacob Flaugher had seven and Alex Matthews added five. Tucker Gross was 3-of-4 for 47 yards. Luke Farrell rushed for 170 yards while Chase Rollin also had 170 yards and Alex Mathews added 139 yards.
