Coach Dan Boggan and the Sexton Big Reds made up a 14 point, fourth quarter defecit but ultimately Grand Rapids South Christian proved to be too much.
Quarterback Jon Wassink threw for 3 touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown, to give the Sailors a 28-27 Division 4 State Championship.
The Big Reds end the season 13-1. Malik Mack finished 17-of-22 for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns.
