The Owosso Boys Track and Field Team File
Led by a talented trio in the shot put, the Owosso boys track and field team placed ninth at the Michigan State University True Team Invitational. Tyler Waterman won the event with a personal-best put of 48’2″. Parker Thornton placed fifth with a put of 43’3″, while Zach Reed was seventh with a put of 42’1″.

The Corunna Girls Track and Field Team File
The Corunna girls placed fourth at the Michigan State University True Team Invitational. Rylie Martin led the way, as she won the pole vault with a vault of 9’6″. Hannah Caswell placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.30 seconds, while Meredith Norris took second in the high jump with a jump of 4’10”. Myah Kelly placed fourth in the pole vault, while Hannah Dean placed fifth in the shot put.

The Chesaning Baseball Team File
The Chesaning baseball team opened the season with a 4-1 record after a dramatic 11-10 win in extra innings against Millington. Isiah Rodriguez had a walk-off hit with the bases loaded in the eighth inning for the winning run. Freshman pitcher Noah Rieder went the first five innings, striking out five and allowing two hits. JT Gross picked up the win in relief to improve to 3-0 for the season, while Brennan Giesken led the offense by going 3 for 4, with three doubles and three RBI.

The Owosso baseball team defeated rival Corunna 2-0 behind some strong early-season pitching. Gavin Barnes worked the first five innings and struck out five, while Jalen Weekley came on in relief and struck out five of the six batters he faced. Adam Stowe, Grant Drake, and Jordan Klapko led the offense with a hit each.

The Corunna boys track and field team turned in a big effort and placed second in the small school division at the Michigan State University True Team Invitational. Blake Watson won the 1600-meter run in 4:33.45, while Noah Jacobs won the 3200-meter run in 9:58.72. Marshall Walters won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.85 seconds. Mike Newman tied for first place in the pole vault with a vault of 11’6″. Kyle Mesh took third in the 3200-meter run, and Cameron Welte took third in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Chesaning Boys Track and Field Team File
The Chesaning boys track and field team picked up a big win when it took first place at the Ithaca Blue and Gold Invitational. Sprinters led the way, as junior Bryan Moore won the 100-meter dash in 11.36 seconds and senior Travis Young took second in 11.31. Moore also placed second in the 200-meter dash. Chesaning also won both the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. Senior Kody Keys won the pole vault with a vault of 12’0″, while freshman Brandon Keys won the long jump with a leap of 19’4″.
