The Corunna Girls’ Bowling File
The Cavaliers brought home the grand prize this year, when they captured the Division 3 team state bowling championship. They defeated Coloma 1,233 – 1,170 to win the title match. Brianna Eldridge, Hannah Eldridge, Morgan Gilbert, Sierra Howes, and Morgan Scott led the way for Corunna. Gilbert and Scott also qualified for the individual finals this season.

The Chesaning Boys’ Track File
The Chesaning boys enjoyed a big track season, as they captured the Division 3 regional at Bath and then placed 15th at the Division 3 state track and field finals. At the state meet, Harrison Ervin placed sixth in the 400-meter dash and Kody Keys placed third in the pole vault. The 4×400 relay team placed fifth, while the 4×100 relay team took seventh at state.

The Laingsburg Girls’ Basketball File
It was a season to remember for the Laingsburg girls basketball team. It reeled off 26 wins in a row before falling to Calumet, 30-26, in the Class C state semifinal round. Defense was a key to success for the Wolfpack, who allowed just 25 points per game. Lindsey Smith led the offense, as she averaged 12 points per game.

The New Lothrop Wrestling File
The New Lothrop wrestling team was again one of the most dominant wrestling teams in the state, as it went 29-1 this season in dual meets. It won its 14th team state championship with a 38-24 victory against Hudson in the Division 4 state finals. Individually, junior Steven Garza II won the 145-pound state title and finished the season with a 42-0 record, while junior Caleb Symons finished second at 189 pounds.

The Morrice Girls’ Basketball File
The Morrice girls basketball team was one of the most exciting teams in the area this season. The Orioles made a run at a Class D state title, as they reached the regional final and finished the season with a 20-4 overall record. They featured a potent offense that was paced by Courtney Wolf, who earned special mention all-state honors. Avery Munro earned honorable mention all-state honors.

The Corunna Wrestling File
It was a special season for the Corunna wrestling team. The Cavaliers won a district title and reached the team regional semifinal round. At the individual state meet, freshman Jarrett Trombley won the 112-pound state title when he defeated fellow Cavalier Tristan Serbus in the final match. Trombley finished the season with a 47-1 record, while Serbus went 40-8. Corunna junior Emilio Campos placed second at 103 pounds.
