Chesaning Girls Cross Country Team File
The Chesaning girls cross country team is off to a strong start this season. It placed fourth at the Chesaning Invitational. Samantha Hill led Chesaning, as she placed fourth individually with a time of 22:52. Her teammate Madison Krupp finished one place behind with a time of 22:58. Keeley Melwing placed 22nd with a time of 25:15, while Mia Copes placed 30th.

Owosso Boys Soccer Team File
The Owosso boys soccer team has started the season strong, as it won six of its first nine matches. It improved to 6-3 for the season when it defeated Eaton Rapids, 2-1. Kieran Smith paced the offense with two goals, while Traverse Campbell and Sam Roose added assists in the win.

Noah Jacobs File
Corunna junior Noah Jacobs is off to a blazing start with the Cavalier cross country team. He took first place as an individual both at the Corunna Early Bird Invitational and at the first Genesee Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season. Jacobs then ran a career-best 15:32 and finished third overall at the Spartan Invitational at Michigan State University.

Skylar Napier File
A senior setter for the Corunna volleyball team, Napier recently broke the school record for career assists. She broke the previous record during a game against Lake Fenton on Sept. 15. For her career, she has totaled 2,328 assists and has half a season to add to her record total. So far this season, she is averaging 8.4 assists per game.

Clint Galvas File
New Lothrop head football coach Clint Galvas was recognized by the Detroit Lions as the Week 2 Farm Bureau Insurance Michigan High School Football Coach of the Week. Galvas has led New Lothrop to a perfect record and has the Hornets ranked in the top ten in the state in Division 7.

Owosso Girls Cross Country File
A pair of Owosso girls earned medalist honors at the Nike-Holly Invitational. Katie Owens placed 25th in a time of 21:34 and Mirranda Libbey placed 28th in a time of 21:59, as they helped Owosso to a 10th-place finish as a team.
