Beal City football
It’s another playoff season for Beal City and top players like Chase Rollins, but the Aggies won’t enter it at 9-0. They were upset in midseason 17-7 by Evart, which was the Wildcats’ only Highland Conference win. The Aggies survived Elkton Pigeon Bayport 35-20 in the final game of the regular season despite 300 yards pass from Bay Port’s Brennan Wissner.
Mount Pleasant football
Isaac Angera was the defensive hero for Mount Pleasant (7-2) in the final game of the regular season, a 48-13 victory over Saginaw Heritage. He had five solo tackles and five assists to lead the defense.
Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart football
Sacred Heart ended the regular season with a 13-7 win over Mendon. Kyle Szymanski had a big day with 143 yards on 24 carries for Sacred Heart.
Ashley football
Ashley ended the seosn on a winning note with a 26-8 win over Brethren. Ashley had a 2-2 record at home this season. The Bears also beat Sacred Heart and Traverse City Christian.
Mount Pleasant cross country
Mac Labelle, a junior, had his season’s best for Mount Pleasant with a 15:58.73 in the Oiler Invitational. Andrew Harrast had his best of 16:48.8 in the DeWitt Cross Country Invitational.
