Portland softball coach Jack Anderson steered his team to a 23-1 record with two wins on Saturday to take the district title in Division 2 at Alma. “Our kids really did a nice job,” he said. “We got behind in our first game by four and they kept clawing back and fighting back, didn’t give up and were hitting the ball well. In the second one, we crushed the ball against Belding.”
