Freeland started Friday night’s game on offense, which doesn’t usually happen. The Falcons drove 62 yards in 13 plays and Carston Yaw punched it in from 5 yards out. A missed PAT made the score 6-0 with 6:42 to go in the first.

After a 3 and out by the defense, the Falcons were on the march again. The Falcons drove down to the 28 yard line, but came up empty on a 4th down pass.

Another 3 and out for the defense and Freeland took over on the 33 yard line. The Faclons drove 67 yard in 13 plays and finished the drive with a 2 yard touchdown run by Aiden West. The Falcons went for 2 and Elijah Vlassis found Jack Townsend wide open in the back of the endzone to make the 14-0 with 5:03 left in the half.

Carrollton went to the spread on their next possession and put together a drive that started on their own 45 yard line. On 2nd and 10 Carrollton rolled to the left when Jack Townsend stepped in front of a pass and took it 84 yards to the house. Jayce Bourcier layed a great block to spring Townsend down the side line. Layne Moergeli ran in the 2pt conversion and the Falcons took a 22-0 lead with 1:59 to go in the half.

Carrollton would start the 3rd quarter on the 41 yard line, but another 3 and out forced them to punt. Jaden DeBeau caught the punt and made 2 great moves. He followed 4 lead blockers 75 yards down the sideline for another Falcon TD. Jack Townsend kicked the PAT and the lead became 29-0 with 9:29 to go in the 3rd.

Carrollton would start this drive on their own 33, but were unable to move the after 6 plays and would have to punt it away. The Falcons would fumble the ball on their 2nd play and Darius Thomas was right there to scoop up and return it 43 yards to get the Cavaliers on the board. The PAT was good making the score 29-7 with 6:11 to go in the 3rd.

The Falcons would take just 9 plays to go 62 yards when Layne Moergeli broke free for a 28yd TD run. Jack Townsend would add the PAT and the lead would widen to 36-7.

The Cavs wouldn’t go away though. 12 seconds later Freshmen DJ Volts was in the endzone after returning the kickoff 62 yards. The PAT sailed right and that would end the scoring at 36-13 with 47 seconds to go in the 3rd.

Both teams would take turns subbing in as many players as possible throughout the 4th quarter.

The Falcons move to 2-0 and start conference play next week at home against 2-0 Swan Valley.
