Ashley coach Kevin Saylor: We were able to get on the board first in this one, unfortunately that was the only lead we would have. We had a couple of defensive breakdowns early but I thought collectively were able to fix the lapses. Taking nothing away from Suttons Bay, they played hard and executed, but we had a couple of key guys get nicked up in this one and unfortunately we just don't have the bench to make up the difference. I hate excuses but again, we are replacing seniors with freshman and we just can't compete against seniors and juniors. When I have to scrape together an 8 man squad to go against teams of 18-20 players plus a JV squad it's hard to stay in the fight. But i'm proud of my squad, that's exactly what they do is stay in the fight. Homecoming is this week and we'll get ready for All Saints and hopefully put a good product on the field for the homecoming fans.
