Beal excels at Saranac

For the first time since 2014, the Aggie Varsity Cross Country teams traveled to the Saranac Color Run Invitational on Tuesday. On a tough course and a hot day, Alex Taylor led the Beal City boys’ team to a sixth place finish as he raced to 2nd place in 17:07.7. With thirteen schools competing, four of the five teams placing ahead of the Aggies were Division 2. Derek Gross (15th, 18:34.2) was second for Beal with Matthew Kolb (30th, 19:50.9), Nathan Reihl (45th, 20:52.0), and Konnor Wilson (52nd, 22:04.5), in his first Cross Country race, rounding out the Aggie scorers. Rachal Weber was 6th in the girls’ race in 21:49.9 while Emma Gross also picked up a top-30 medal in 22nd at 24:18.2. The teams will travel to Montabella High School on Friday for the Mustang Invitational.
