Beal City hosted the third and final 2018 Highland Conference Cross Country Jamboree on Tuesday and the Aggie boys finished 4th for both the meet and the season while the Lady Aggies were 5th for both. Alex Taylor placed first in 16:50.3 to lead the boys with Derek Gross also posting a top-10 finish in 9th at 18:06.8. Levi Eisenbach (15th, 18:58.2), Nathan Reihl (24th, 19:38.5) and Jacob Vollmar (36th, 20:40.8) completed the Aggie scoring five to place just one point out of third and only seven back from second place Evart. For the second meet in a row, Travis Faber (21:49.8) lowered his lifetime best while Brandon Gross (21:38.2) and Konnor Wilson (21:01.9) dropped their season bests. Alex earned his fourth straight First Team All-Conference honor and Derek was also First Team All-Conference after earning Honorable Mention recognition as a freshman. Rachal Weber earned First Team All-Conference, as well, as she ran a season best 20:41.8 for 4th after finishing 7th in Jamborees #1 and #2. All-Conference Honorable Mention honors go to Emma Gross who added a 12th place finish in 22:45.1 to 11th and 12th in the earlier Jams. The Beal City boys and girls will be in action again on Friday at Maple Creek Golf Course in Shepherd as they compete in the Alma College Scottie Classic Invitational starting at 4:00.
