The Beal City Middle School Cross Country team wrapped up a second place finish for the 2018 season at Tuesday’s Highland Conference Jamboree #3 on their home course. Individual Conference Championships went to Owen Gross and Kaylee Locke as they both won all three Highland Jamborees. Kaylee also set a new Jr. High Home Course Record as she clocked 12:26.2 to best four time All-Stater Hannah Steffke’s 2011 time of 12:41.5. Owen recorded a winning time of 12:20.5 while Kaylee bested all the other Conference boys to finish 2nd overall and first girl by over a minute. Season honors go to the top-10 Middle School boys and girls over the course of the season based on their best two out of three races. In addition to Kaylee and Owen, Tailor Onstott, who missed last night’s race due to illness, was the Highland’s #2 girl and Genevieve Lasater earned recognition as 7th girl. Bella Davis (16:31.8) posted her second season best time in a row as she also improved 10 overall places, and 7 among girls, since Jamboree #2. The Jr. Aggies will compete in their final 2018 meet when they travel to the Alma College Scottie Classic Invitational on Friday at Maple Creek Golf Course in Shepherd.
