The Freeland Falcons earn the right to be called conference champions on Wednesday with a 4 set win over The Alma Panthers; 25-19, 21-25, 25-13, 25-16. This is Freeland’s second consecutive TVC Central title going undefeated in conference play for more than two seasons generating a 15 match win streak in conference play. Tonight’s win gave the Falcons a perfect 5-0 conference record and a 25-9-6 season record.

 
With the Panthers celebrating their seniors tonight, the Falcons knew it would be a bigger battle than the match in the quarterfinal match at the Spirit of St. Louis tournament on Saturday. That is exactly how it played out. However, Freeland would let up and continued to attack and serve aggressive to keep Alma on the defense much of sets 1, 3 & 4. 
 
Junior Caitlinn Pistro led the team with a season match high 18 kills and a .357 kill percentage while also digging up 11attcks and passing 22 serves and adding 3 aces on the night. Junior Grace Walker also had an outstanding performance dishing up 22 assists and team high of 4 aces. Middle blockers Taylor Bakos and Caroline Talaga both had 3 blocks. Junior Elli Howard put up some impressive stats with a team high 18 digs and adding 6 kills. 
 
The Falcons return to play on Saturday at Alma Middle School for the TVC Gold Division. The first round of the MHSAA Districts on begin Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Garber High School where they will have face conference foe Swan Valley.
