Cleman coach Clark Swerdan said:

“We opened the game on 15-6 run and had a 10 point lead with 2 mins to go in the first half (38-28). Both teams made a lot of runs & we had the lead at least 75% of the game. The 4th was back and forth until the final 3 mins. The game was tight, but they iced it by making 7 of 8 Fts in the final couple mins.

“I’m proud of my guys. They executed the game plan well and we really did a nice job on their top two scorers. Holding them to 14 & 12 points (9 & 4 going into the the 4th), respectively. Senior Spencer Pnacek (5 rebs) & junior Tyler Germain had great games defensively. I couldn’t have asked them to do any more.

We had our chances late, but just couldn’t get it done in the final few mins.

We played a really good game and gave ourselves a chance to win late. That’s all you can hope for in a tough conference game.

This was a good learning experience for my mostly junior class lead team. They can learn a lot from this game.

We are now 7-6 (5-4 in MSAC). We play at Harrison next Tuesday.

Breckenridge also won the JV game 61 to 36. Jaden Bovee had 18 points.”
