Crossroads loses to Hart


SPORTS:

CCA fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 21-0 loss to Hart Pirates Varsity on Friday. Hart Pirates Varsity scored on a single by M Hopkins and a single by R Noggle in the first inning.
The CCA struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Hart Pirates Varsity, giving up 21 runs.
Hart Pirates Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Hopkins drove in two when she singled.
A double by Maddie Alber in the first inning was a positive for CCA.
Cassidy Copenhaver was the winning pitcher for Hart Pirates Varsity. She went four innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking zero.
Gabby Curtis took the loss for CCA. She lasted four innings, allowing 15 hits and 21 runs while striking out one.
Alber, Gretchen Purcell, and Megan Griswold all had one hit to lead CCA.
Hart Pirates Varsity totaled 15 hits. Hopkins, Noggle, Skylar Smith, Nicole Rockwell, and Kloe Dumonte each had multiple hits for Hart Pirates Varsity. Hart Pirates Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Samantha James-Witteveen had eight chances in the field, the most on the team. Smith led Hart Pirates Varsity with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
