Alma’s softball team has won a district championship.
Game 1 was finished on Monday after being postponed on Saturday. Alma won 11-0 over Corunna. Danielle Shaw was the winning pitcher, allowing one hit and striking out seven in five innings.
Sarah Gadde had two hits, one run scored and four RBIs. Alyssa Beechler had two hits, one run scored and one RBI. Hailey Leister had two hits and one RBI. Alyssa Leister and Dalanie Mott had one hit, one run and one RBI apiece.
Alma defeated Owosso 1-0 in the title game. Haley Leister was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and striking out 10. Mott had two hits and the game winning RBI in the third inning. Sarah Gadde had two hits while Hailey Leister had one, plus two intentional walks.
Alma plays Saturday at Flint Kearsley.
