P-W’s bid for baseball title ends with setback

Pewamo-Westphalia’s baseball team was hoping to join other sports at P-W as state champs this season. But the Pirates’ bid ended on Friday at MSU with a 2-1 loss in nine innings to Homer. Tanner Wirth and Jared Thelen had two hits apiece for P-W which ended its season at 31-3.
