The Midland Dow High Chargers improved their boys season record to 5-1 on the year with an 8-0 victory over Holly and Gibraltor Carlson and a 5-3 win over Grand Rapids Christian on Tuesday. Dow High next plays in the Ann Arbor Invitational on Friday.

Coach Terry Schwartzkopf: “Today settled some things for us. We are close to a final lineup and I saw a lot of raw talent. I am impressed that a team for whom the majority have never even had an actual practice at Dow yet have accomplished such success. These guys fought hard on a very humid and hot day. They faced setbacks and overcame them. The ball did not always bounce our way, but in the end they were able to put that behind them and focus on the next point. For this young of a team this early in the season, that is incredible. This season is gonna be special.”

In the 8-0 wins, victors for Dow were in singles, Anish Middha (No. 1). Colson Wells (No. 2), Saketh Kamaraj (No. 3) and Caleb Qiu (No. 4). and I doubles. Setthur SK and Gavin Kellmaster (No. 1), Zaky El-Nachef-Marshall McGaugh (No. 2) and Aiden Tais-Thomas Ladwin (No. 3), plus Enrico Setiawin and Alex Griffin.
