Dow improved to 17-3-2 (8-0 in SVL) after beating cross-town rival Midland 7-1 today. Dow next plays at the loaded Groves quad on Saturday featuring Birmingham Groves, Forest Hills Northern and Ann Arbor Huron.
Midland coach Terry Schwartzkopf:”Today was a tough test. Mike is a great coach and I was not sure what to expect. Days like today are bittersweet…it is always important to beat the cross town rival but it is always tough as it is the last home match for the seniors. It is so hard to know the goodbyes are coming, but what they leave behind is incredible. The leadership of Anish and Saketh this year, especially, keeps propelling this team to higher standards. The freshman no longer look like freshman but seasoned veterans…and with states around the corner… it couldn’t have come at a better time.”
