The Redwings struggled to score in the 1st quarter as Mason jumped
out to 11 – 0 lead. St. Johns’ scoring struggles continued into the 2 nd quarter and
they trailed 27 – 8 midway through the quarter. The Redwings finished the first
half on a 13 – 4 run and trailed 31 – 21 at half time. St. Johns continued to cut
into the Bulldog lead in the 2 nd half. The Redwings scored the first 4 points of the
3 rd quarter and cut the lead to 31 – 25. Both teams played even through most of
the final half. The Redwings made one final run at the Bulldogs. Trailing 45 – 35,
St. Johns finished the game on a 9 – 3 run but fell 4 points short as Mason went
on to the victory.
