Hemlock too much for Valley Lutheran

Hemlock built quarter leads of 23-11, 35-24 and 56-37 and went on to a 78-50 boys basketball win over Saginaw Valley Lutheran High School on Friday. Nolan Finkbeiner had 16 points, Jayden Evans 12 and Michael Zolinski nine for Hemlock. Brady Devereaux had 10 rebounds and Michael Zolinski six for Hemlock. Finkbeiner had five assists while Jayden Evans had four. Zolinski had three blocks and took three charges. Jayden Evans had three steals.

For Valley Lutheran, Keaton Ringley had 21 points and Jacob Hecht added 15.

Hemlock coach Matt Bauer: “I thought we had great balance tonight. I’m not sure if I’ve ever coached in a game where seven different players scored eight or more points. We also drew three charges and got quite a few floor burns. I’m really enjoying watching how hard we’re playing and how much we’re supporting each other.

Hemlock is home on Tuesday against Chesaning.
