Bay City Western 39, Bay City John Glenn 38

Western coach DeMario Walker: “It was the best game of the season for us so far. We played incredible defensively. We exhausted their shooters by face guarding them. Very proud of our play. All week in practice we were telling the guys that any given day anyone can be beat. Score was 15 to 15 at half and we scored first coming out of half time which helped us with the momentum. It was a low-scoring game because defense on both sides were furious. In the second half we had a couple big plays to help us out like Logan O’Hare’s big 3-point play, Aaron Norfleet going 4-for-4 from the free throw line and Lance Wiltse hitting a big 3-pointer in the third quarter.

Luke Gillis also did a nice job taking the ball to the basket and creating opportunities for him and his teammates to score. I said it before and I’ll say it again. yeah we only have 3 wins but we will be ready for districts, win or lose we prepare hard. We keep building and building from one game to another! “If not now when” was the quote of the week I was inspired by my two assistants. I would also like to thank our fans, student section and the administration staff for all the support and warm welcome. It’s been a great first year so far and I couldn’t ask for a better school, program, fans, parents, admin staff and most of my players to share this first year experience with.

Luke Gillis – 10 points

Jack Fryzel – 7 points

Logan O’Hare – 7 points

Lance Wiltse – 7 points
