Frankenmuth Eagles take sixth


SPORTS:

The Frankenmuth Eagles took on second place Birch Run this past weekend in the first match at Valley Lanes in Midland. The Panthers came out strong taking both baker games. The Panthers didn't stop there. In the first Peterson game, Birch Run won 827 to 641 and they also took the second Peterson game 870 to 578. Cheyenne Brown led the Panthers with a 221 game and Kaylee Mader with a 202 game. Jozie Felske had a high game of 147 for the Eagles followed by Jayna Leichner with a 146 game. Final score of the match Birch Run 29 to Frankenmuth 1.

The second match of the day was against Freeland Falcons. The Eagles won the first baker game 125 to 105 and lost the second baker game 127 to 153. The Eagles were able to win both Peterson games 658 to 610 and 651 to 580, giving Frankenmuth the win 18 to 12. Kaylee Matzke led the way with a 172 and 166, Jayna Leichner 166, and Jozie Felske 147.

Next week the Eagles will participate in the TVC Tournament to be held at Northern Lanes in Midland Friday and Saturday.
