The Lady Eagles went on the road one last time this regular season for a non-conference match-up with Chesaning and won 53-37. The Indians came into tonight’s game with an impressive 13-3 record and is the #1 seed in their upcoming district tournament. Frankenmuth didn’t allow that to intimidate them, quickly coming out of the gates and assuming control of the contest. Zoey Persails was on fire early, canning 4 of her 5 three-point baskets in the first quarter en route to a season-high 23 points. The sophomore guard ignited the Eagle offense, while the defense got back to its stingy ways in this contest.

Chesaning cut the deficit to just five points at the break, but the Eagles responded with a solid third quarter with sophomore Emma Kerkau knocking down a pair of threes, and the Eagle lead grew to as much as 20 in the second half.

Lexi Boyke nearly had another double-double, as the freshman finished with 10 points, 9 boards, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Kerkau finished with 8 points and added 3 boards.

The Eagles return home to take on conference leader, Freeland, in our Coaches vs. Cancer game this Friday night. The girls game starts at 6:00 with the boys to follow. Come out, enjoy the games, and support a great cause!
