It wasn’t the type of season opener the Farwell Eagles were looking for at Coleman Friday night.

The Eagles fell behind 20-0 and lost 46-23 to the Comets.

Farwell’s Ben Barnhart ran for a 30-yard TD run to cut the Coleman lead. Keegan Rohdy’s 44-yard TD run made it 26-15.

But Farwell trailed 32-15 at halftime.

Barnhart had a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to make it 38-23. Anderson scored from seven yards out with 7:59 to play.

“I’ve got a lot more film to watch before I go either way on it,” said Farwell coach Scott Barnhart. “The only thing I’d want to offer is our hats off to Coleman. They had a great scheme and a great game. Their kids played very well. I wish them well down the stretch.”

Jacob Turner was among Farwell’s leaders on defense with six tackles.

Rohdy gained 59 yards on nine attempts while Cody Bauer had 33 yards on nine tries for Farwell.
