Revenge for the Pioneers.

A 42-6 triumph at Farwell Friday night has the Clare Pioneers with a three-game winning streak, 3-1 overall record and 2-0 Jack Pine Conference mark.

Clare was seeking to avenge a loss to Farwell in the first round of the playoffs last season.

Jackson Gross took the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown.

Gross capped the scoring for Clare with a 62-yard TD run in the fourth. Ruby kicked the PAT.

It all started off with Jackson’s kickoff return and that was huge for us, we got the momentum right away,” said Clare football coach Kelly Luplow. “We wanted to try to jump on them early and get them down. For the most part, the entire team played well.”

Gross rushed 15 times for 229 yards and two TDS. Luplow had 151 yards on 10 of 16 in passing for three TDs. Haynak caught seven passes for 119 yards.

Defensively, Taylor Meixner had 12 tackles and one fumble recovery, Joe Maguire had 11 tackles while Jordan Gross added 10 tackles. Todd Wysong and Jackson Gross both had fumble recoveries.
