Alexis Huntey led the way for a championship effort by the Morley Stanwood volleyball team Saturday at the Grandville Invitational.
In the title match, Morley Stanwood, a Class C school, defeated Class A Mattawan 25-21, 25-15.
The wins improved Morley Stanwood’s record to 20-6-1.
Huntey had 85 kills on 149 attacks and just six errors for the day. Bailey Cairnduff had 30 kills. Huntey also had 48 digs while Brett Chesebro added 29 and Sam Carey had 28.
Cairnduff had 77 assists while Melissa Holland added 34.
Kayla Rosman had seven blocks. Chesebro and Cairnduff had nine aces apiece.
