Thanks to a 37-33 Redskin O-K Blue Conference win over Comstock Park Wednesday night,Belding improved to 3-0 in the O-K Blue and 9-5 overall.
Hanging onto a 27-21 lead, Belding clinched it with wins at 135 and 140 pounds. Devin Bailey at 135 took a major decision 13-4 over Ramon Saucedo and Brady Phelps at 140 got a pin in 50 seconds over Eliot Peterman.
Michael Walker got the Redskins out to a 6-0 lead at 160 pounds when he pinned Austin Taylor in 3:35. Comstock Park’s Aaron Martin pinned Blake Radarmer in 3:00 at 171 to tie the match.
Neal McCully regained the lead for Belding at 189 with a pin in 2:52 over Andrew Albright.
Todd Haller won the heavyweight match for Belding over Fred Stachowiak 4-0.
Michael Hunter won by forfeit at 103 and it was 21-9, Belding.
Comstock Park’s Bailey Stevens won a 15-8 decision at 112 over James Douglas and Alex Berry’s 9-2 decision at 119 over Belding’s Connor Barker cut the Redskin lead to 21-15.
Belding’s Jesse Scheidel won at 125 in 27 seconds over Nick Nava and CP’s Tyler Brewer pinned Gage Johnson in 1:49 at 130.
