Logan Emery of Clare was named Most Valuable Performer Saturday at the Chippewa Hills Joe Loren Memorial Invitational.

Emery was the champion at 160 pounds. He pinned Forrest Courtright of Shelby in 4:55 in the title match. In the semifinals, he pinned Bodie Austin of Williamston in 4:19. He also pinned Sean McWilliams of Reeths Puffer in 3:04 and Storm Vanhyffe of Pennfield in 1:50. Emery is 12-1 overall at 160 pounds.

As a team, Clare was 13th among 21 schools with 69.5 points. The Pioneers also had a fith place and seventh place.

Bob Green improved to 6-7 with a fifth-place finish at 285 pounds. in his final match, he pinned Demere Ramey of Orchard View in 1:24.

Michael Evers, a junior is 9-4 after taking seventh at 112 pounds. He defeateed Josh Chupp of Newaygo 20-5 in his final match.
