Lakeview’s wrestling team is getting ready for the 2013 portion of its schedule following a strong finish by two grapplers over the Christmas holidays in the Joe Loren Memorial Invitational.
Terry Grieser took second place at 152 pounds. He lost in the championship match on a 3-1 decision to Jason Peacock of Chippewa Hills. Grieser is 9-5.
Gus Ward, Lakeview’s 189-pounder, had an intriguing match in the finals against defending state champion and undefeated Steve Malloy of Morley Stanwood.
Malloy ended the match with a 3-2 victory. Ward is 11-3.
On the strength of Grieser and Ward’s performances, Lakeview finished 15th.
