Vestaburg girls runners took third place in the Chippewa Hills Warrior Invitational on Saturday with a 59. Manton won the division at 34.

Johannah McCarty was third in 22:20.7, Andreya McCarty fourth in 22:42.18, Essie McCarty 23rd in 26:49.76, Rebecca Gondek 24th in 26:54.53 and Cammi Clouse 26th in 27:56.40.  

Vestaburg did not have enough boys for a team score in the gold division.

Running for the Wolverines was Andrew Bengry who was 72nd overall and 15th in his division in 20:23.78. Kirklyn Edwards was 24th in 22:15.94.

 

Vestaburg will compete in the state regionals in Division 4 this Saturday with hopes of qualifying runners Nov. 2 in the state finals at Brooklyn’s Michigan International Speedway.
