SCHOOL: Clawson Trojans

LEAGUE: MAC Silver Division

HEAD COACH: Jim Sparks

LAST SEASON’S RECORD: 3-6, 1-4 MAC Silver (fifth)

KEY RETURNEES: Kamarielle Manley, jr. WR; Mitchell Payne, sr. LB/OL; Max Standzik, sr. LB/OL; Javion Alexander-Lloyd, sr. WR/DB; Omari Johnson, sr. WR/DB; Bryce Blaesing, jr. QB

OUTLOOK: After three straight postseason berths from 2013-15 and five in seven years, Clawson took a step back in 2016 after moving to the MAC-Silver. A heavy load of new starters are ready to prove their worth and help the Trojans climb back up the charts. Clawson won MAC-Bronze conference titles in 2014 and 2015.

SCHOOL: Madison Heights Lamphere Rams

LEAGUE: MAC Bronze Division

HEAD COACH: Jeff Glynn

LAST SEASON’S RECORD: 0-9, 0-4 MAC-Bronze

OUTLOOK: The Rams have accumulated eight postseason berths in their school history, but not since 2010 has Lamphere made the cut. On the tail end of six straight losing campaigns, the Rams only tallied 52 total points during last year’s winless campaign. The only way for Lamphere to head is up.

SCHOOL: Madison Heights Madison Eagles

LEAGUE: MAC Silver Division

HEAD COACH: James Rogers, second season.

LAST SEASON’S RECORD: 6-4, 4-1 MAC-Silver (second)

KEY RETURNEES: DeRon Hood, sr. DL/OL

OUTLOOK: Former Lamphere multi-sport standout James Rogers took the reigns last season, but not much changed for the Eagles, who have appeared in 12

straight postseasons. Winners of its final four division games last season, Madison will look to engage in the MAC-Silver race this season. The Eagles won league titles from 2013-15.
