Bay City Western Boys Basketball vs Lapeer
Jan. 17 at Lapeer

Western – 35
Lapeer – 66

Western coach Demario Walker: Great first half, missed a few free throws to cut the lead going into half time. But we were still only down 4 at half; down 26-22. Our boys had a slow first couple minutes but found their stride after jump ball. Intensity and effort is there but we are struggling putting on a good second half! Being out scored 23-5 in the 3rd quarter was to big of a point spread. Killed our confidence and our energy. No one is harder on myself than me so I’m always beating myself up about my half time adjustments but next game will be different. We also need to put points up. Our last 3 games we can’t seem to break the 40 mark! After each game we learn something different about ourselves and why we need to work on moving forward. The problem is once we get comfortable with that there is always something. However, I told the boys THATS THE GAME OF BASKETBALL. We must learn how to correct our errors during game time and we must learn to be more disciplined. Win or lose I’m excited about the team I have! I look at our team in a different perspective than everyone else. I can’t be more pleased to share this one time experience being a 1st year Varsity coach with this group of boys.”
