Corunna High School has recognized Elizabeth Norris as Lansing State Journal Volleyball Player of the Year. She will be playing for North Dakota volleyball.

Nick Steinacker and Hannah Hollister were also recognized for being outstanding student-athletes at Corunna.

Corunna coach Kari Carnell has had some cherish moments with Norris.

“One of my most memorable moments with the athlete is honestly just sharing in the memories we have created over the past three years,” Carnell said. “Winning districts for the first time in school history and then repeating the next two years after that has been such a fun memory that her and I will always have.

“Volleyball playing wise, one of my favorite memories was against Kingsley in the quarterfinal last year and the other team’s strategy was to attack at her in the back row and she literally dug every single ball they hit. She was locked into her position and was so focused it helped propel us on defense and we never looked back.”
