Girls basketball on Thursday
The Montabella Varsity girls began the game with a strong defensive presence and good communication on the floor to win the first quarter 7-6. The girls had a flat second quarter and got themselves into a hole, but worked hard in the second half to try to overcome it. A 20 point fourth quarter brought them closer, but ultimately the Mustangs lost 47-43. Mya Scott lead the team in scoring with 9 points, and Rook Jordan and BraLynn Clark were behind her with 6 and 5 respectively. Everyone else that was on the floor scored as well. Julie Spohn and CJ Courser both had 5 rebounds apiece. The girls play at home again this Saturday against Merrill.
