The Montabella Mustang boys varsity team hosted the Comets of Coleman on Thursday night. A Mustang team that was locked in defensively held the comets to only 10 points in the first half, which resulted in a 14 point lead that the Mustangs would not give back. Great movement and offensive execution combined with a staunch defensive effort earned the win for the Mustangs 53-37.
The starting guards for the mustangs, JT Smith, Evan Judge, and Caleb Theisen all finished with more than 3 assists and more than 3 steals each. Smith, Keegan Ferguson, and Drew Kelsey all finished in double figure scoring. While Ferguson also finished with 12 rebounds, and Eder Lopez pulled in 8 boards on the night. Kennan Huber also scored a bucket on the night, just before the final buzzer and the crowd went wild!
The Mustangs travel to Fulton on Saturday with a 2pm Jv tip.
