The Frankenmuth Boys golf team got a glimpse of the regional course as they competed in a 12 team tournament Monday. The golfers played at Hidden Oaks in St. Louis, Michigan. They teed off at 9:00 from the white tees, totaling in 6,135 yards with a slope/rating of 70.4/122. It was 55 degrees at the start with a constant drizzle until 10:00.

The team shot a team best 360 earning them a spot in the top 3 teams at the tournament.

Eric Nielsen was on fired today shooting an impressive 39 on the front and a 40 on the back. His 80 put him in the top 3 golfers of the tournament. Nielsen was up and down for par on almost every hole. On 16 he made a punch cut shot from the trees that enabled him to go up and down for one of his 12 pars on the day.

Brendan Lenhard shot the next best with a 91. Lenard parred 4 out of 5 of his last holes.

Andrew Hoesman added a 93. Hoesman sunk a 25 footer on hole 13 to give him his only birdie on the day.

Caden Piesko finished the Eagles’ scoring with a 96. From 60 yards away on hole nine, Piesko almost holed out leaving the ball inches away from the cup.

Cameron Larrison and Andrew Zuniga also shot for the team but didn’t score. Larrison parred his last hole and Zuniga got a good look at the regional course.
