Reese coach Foster Findlay:

New comers

Jenna Sweeney will really help us in the distance events as she was an All-state runner in the fall.

Abby Karst will help us in the throwing events as well.  Ashlyn Wolschleger and Kendra Ratajczak are working hard in the middle distance and should help our mile and 2-mile relay teams.  Katelyn Louis and Jaden Krieger are new to the sprints and should also make an impact in the sprint relays and field events.

Key Losses

It is difficult to quantify the losses from Covid and Graduation.  Our biggest loss would be lack of training and resistance to participation due to Covid testing.  Many athletes are not comfortable testing.  This has had an impact on our team and many area teams as the numbers for spring sports are surprisingly low.

Key Returners

Allison Galsterer, Josie Hirschman, and Macey Hawken will score points for us in the distance and middle distance events.

Madilyn Wojdula has been doing well in the vault and will continue to improve.

Sarah Gray and Mallory Hughes will help us tremendously in the hurdles and jumps. While Andi Reinert and Katie Childers should score well in the throws.  Our returning athletes have been working hard and have been great examples for our young kids.

Despite our low numbers, I expect that we will continue to be competitive for a league title.  Caro, Cass City and Bad Axe will be right in the mix as well.  I look forward to seeing all athletes compete without issues due to Covid.  We are all ready for these kids to get back to normal.
